Check your phone before checkout

Your device must be unlocked and eSIM-compatible. If your phone is locked to a carrier, you may not be able to install an eSIM.

Carrier-unlocked device

Your phone must not be locked to a single home carrier. Locked devices cannot add a travel eSIM profile.

eSIM-capable hardware

iPhone XS/XR or newer, many recent Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy models support eSIM. Dial *#06# and look for an EID number to confirm.

CleverFi travel eSIMs are data-only. Your primary SIM can stay active for calls and SMS on your home number.

If your eSIM does not connect after landing

Most issues are fixable in a few minutes. Try these steps before contacting support:

    Make sure data roaming is enabled for the eSIM line.

    Confirm the eSIM line is selected for mobile data.

    Restart your phone.

    Try manually selecting the supported network in cellular settings.

    Check APN settings if provided in your setup email.

When to install vs when to activate

Install (before travel)

  • Use Wi-Fi at home or at the hotel before departure.
  • Scan the QR code from your confirmation email.
  • The profile downloads but does not consume travel data yet.

Activate (at destination)

  • Turn on the CleverFi eSIM line in cellular settings.
  • Enable data roaming for that eSIM line only.
  • Service works during your plan validity window in supported countries.
